Loki: Agent of Asgard – Trust Me

Sorry I haven’t posted recently. My mind has been utterly elsewhere, but after recieving a pile of books and graphic novels for Christmas, I now have plenty to talk about. This graphic novel in particular caught my attention in more ways than one.

Not only does it have beautiful artwork, storyline and dialogue, but it also shows us the amazing world of marvel from the point of view of a reformed villian… And Loki’s story keeps getting better.

This is the story of Loki. Adopted on the battlefield by Odin. Foster brother to Thor. Fell into the tricky net of stories. Know by all as the God of Evil. And he was trapped by that definition until the day he died.

So… He died. Which was of course his greatest scheme of all. Reborn into a new, youthful body, Loki is free to choose his own fate. With missions from the All-Mother, he is ready to create his own sparkling image…

But there is a plot within Asgard. An old villian will return. And Loki might just find that knowing the truth is sometimes harder than it seems.

I absolutely LOVED this book. Loki is portrayed just as I wanted him to be and his gender fluidity is beautifully represented. His scheming nature made me laugh out loud and as soon as I was finished the book, I picked it back up to read it again. The only problem is that, as a graphic novel, it is too short and, now that I am addicted to the series, I cannot wait for the next one… Which is out of print. 😭😭

Perhaps McKenzie Lee’s novel, Loki: Where Mischief Lies, will allow me to delve deeper into his past as I grit my teeth and wait, but if I have to wait much longer, I will surely snap.

This graphic novel earned 20 stars out of 10 easily. Smart, sassy and addictive, it is appropriate for anyone over nine. There are some mild sex references and violence, though nothing too visual. Every Marvel fan should drop everything and read this. If you haven’t, I must warn you… You are missing out!
